Hi all

Looking to se if anyone has any experience of using a Grundfos Homepump, like the one in the link:

http://www.bhl.co.uk/product/GRUNDFOS_HOME_BOOSTER_SET_COLD_WATER_37_BAR_PUMP

My water pressure and flow rates aren't good enough for an unvented cylinder, since the private pipe that feeds my house from the mains is old and rusty. We'll get it replaced eventually, but it's a pricey exercise (up to £5k).

So, I thought one of these, linked up to an unvested system would do the job.

Any experience of the pump would be appreciated.

Thanks

Brian :D

Sorry, no experience of that, but why 5k to replace your pipe?

Surely you just need a couple of day's minidigger hire, some 25mm polyprop, a few hours to bring it into the house and hook it in? That's under 250 quid, so surely the waterco don't charge the rest for changeover?

Wish it was £250 to upgrade the pipe. But we're in a rural location with a private supply pipe from the main which is two fields away. So need a lot of pipe and a lot of digging!

£5k might be toppy, but it's not ogin to be cheap!

Country areas often have someone who can mole a pipe in or just cut a 80mm wide slit and thats usually quite cheap.

Mini digger for a day's hire = about a hundred to two hundred quid. 25mm MDPE is cheap as chips. The joints aren't, but one every 50M isn't so bad.

If your ground is stony you might want some sand to bed it in, but often you won't.

Seriously good fun too! Phone turned off, radio turned on - wish I could do it more often.
