Grundfos pump setting? Constant or variable load heating sys

Hi,

I've just replaced my Grundfos alpha heating pump and it has settings for constant or variable heating systems, but I have no idea what this means. I have a megaflow system and gas boiler, any ideas?

Which Alpha - 2 or 2L?

You should normally leave it on the default setting, i.e as it comes out of the box.

Yes its a alpha + and the default setting is variable load with normal resitance. Reading on http://www.pumptool.co.uk/Types.html seems to explain the pump speed better and I think I'll leave it on the default unless it doesnt appear to be powerful enough.
