I have a Grundfos Alpha 15-60 pump that is making a wierd sound and in need for a replacement. I plumber has suggested replacing this pump with a standard Grundfos UPS 15-60 pump which is cheaper than the Alpha pump. Is there any reason why I should not replace my Alpha pump with the standard UPS pump?

the standard one uses more electricity and is constant head.. the alpha may have been selected for other reasons...but with out a visit who knows...??
