I think our cp53 is on the way out. We came home last night and the heating was off, when we switched it back on we heard some loud pulsing noises shooting up one of the pipes followed by the boiler switching off again. The noisey pipe has the cp53 pump attached to it. Some air escaped from the pump when i bled it and the pulsing noise has temporarily gone, so we can get the heating back on, but we can now hear a low rumbling noise from the pump so we are guessing its on its way out? The pump was probably fitted when the house was built in 2004 and i dont think it has been replaced since then.

So...

Does everyone still recommend the Grundfoss 15/50 as the best replacement?

I'd appreciate any help, cheers

Yeh the 15-50 is a replacement for that pump. If you can get one.

They are no longer in production so you may be looking for a grundfos alpha 2
