Hi all

I’ve had a standard gsm alarm for many years no issues

Recently one of the sensors just flashes red multiple times when it senses movements. Normally it’s just once when sensing movement - not multiple flashes

despite battery change problem persists

I know it’s not a branded alarm so advice may be hard to find but hoping somebody may know why it’s playing up….

Meta AI reply when asking about red lights in a pit sensor (so generic response not specific to my alarm model)

A PIR (Passive Infrared) alarm sensor flashing red multiple times usually indicates a specific issue. Here are some possible reasons:
- *Calibration or Test Mode*: The sensor might be in calibration or test mode, often triggered by a power cycle. In this mode, it flashes red when detecting heat signatures.
- *Low Battery Warning*: If it's battery-powered, a flashing red light could signal low battery voltage.
- *Fault or Error Mode*: The sensor might be experiencing an internal issue, possibly due to power surges, interruptions, or environmental interference.
- *Sensitivity Issues*: High sensitivity settings can cause false triggers from minor environmental changes.
- *Dirt or Debris*: A dirty lens can scatter infrared energy, causing erratic behavior.

To troubleshoot, try:
1. Checking and cleaning the lens
2. Adjusting sensitivity settings
3. Replacing batteries (if applicable)
4. Resetting the sensor via power cycle

If issues persist, it might be worth consulting a professional or replacing the sensor

UNFORTUNATELY I DO NOT KNOW ANY MASTER CODE ETC SO WOULDN’T KNOW HOW TO RESET ETC as somebody else installed it
