i have a full length gu door lock fitted, with two 'nibs' above and beneath the main lock that extend out when handle is raised fully, something is wrong, nibs struggle to extend out fully now which leaves me unable to turn key and lock door, and when unlocked, handle droops down, i have solved problem temporarily by removing brass nib receivers from door frame and opening the holes a little thus, allowing nibs to extend and enter fully with nothing to restrict their movement, as it seems the slightest side pressure on nibs from door frame meant lifting handle wouldnt extend nibs out fully to allow locking the door, can i repair this problem or what? thanks so much

by the way its a wooden door, and its definitely a problem with lock mechanism, when you lift handle up theres abit of play on nibs, they need to be fully extended, but if i hold my finger gently on side of nib it wont extend the last couple of mill it needs to to lock door, now to lock door i really have to exagerrate yanking handle up and it will lock just about( last thing, bottom of inner doorface is no longer flush with frame, protrudes a few mill, but top still is flush
