I need to get a window off.

See photos below. The first two are the upper hinge and the second two the lower.

These are in Portugal made by GU.

I think the way it works is to get the pin out the top hinge, then the window will tilt in and I can lift it off the bottom hinge (having first taken out the grub screw). Is that right?

If that's right, the problem is I can't see how to get the pin out the top hinge - do I bash it down from the top or just pull it out from the bottom.

If it helps, the bottom of the top hinge has a groove for a (big) flat-headed screw driver and a lug (indicating what?). It does rotate but it doesn't appear to move up or down and the visible parts of what appear to be the pin in the two 'windows' don't rotate with it.

Can anybody help?

Thanks in advance

Neil

Not sure but I think you need to use allen keys at the top and bottom, it two allen keys of the same size to remove the pin. I may well be wrong though. Someone more knowledgeable should be along soon.

I am talking about the very top and bottom of the hinge. if not a hex head is it possible that they are torx heads?

At the top there's no socket and the pin's flush with the top of the hinge. Photo of the bottom below. Doesn't look like a hex or torx socket. As I said in my original post, I can turn that with a large flat headed screw driver but that doesn't make it move in or out or turn the pin.
