To me a GU10 lamp has a base shaft leading from the reflector to the pins of approx 22mm diameter - I have come across some with a larger diameter shaft of approx 30mm diameter but still with usual GU10 pins. The thicker lamps are LED's where the thicker shaft apparently contains elements that make the LED's less prone to failure from voltage surges. Trouble is the wider shaft prevents the pins inserting into the ceramic lampholder.
I know the difference between GU10 & GZ10.
Anyone know of a supplier of ceramic lampholders that will take the the wider shaft?
I've tried the downlighter manufacturer (twice) but they refuse to answer emails at present. Any help anyone?
