Hi all I'm looking to level my garden in he next few weeks so we can put a climbing frame in for the little cherub.

I'm planning on hiring a micro digger and I'm basically going to move a foot of soil from the top to the bottom. This will leave a shelf that I will need to retain (obviously a foot) so I would like to know what should I actually do step by step.

Should I pour a concrete base or should I just dig a little foundation to the clay (I'll probably be in the clay anyway) and add a slither of concrete and start building straight on to it. How do I make sure it doesn't hold water back? How thick will it need to be? Can I just have it 1 brick wide or will I need to double skin it?

Ant help would be much appreciated

Thanks

Jacka
