Morning All, i have a 1950`s property , currently has aluminium framed double glazed windows. thinking of changing them this year , the issu i have is it appears directly above the windows is a course of what appears to be crease tiles ( rosmary tiles, directly above this is the brick work , the brick work is showing signs of slightly dropping ( cracking in the mortar). so i guess although they are not the original windows , when the house was built the i guess wooden frames were installed and tiles feature and brickwork layed directly on top.... so couple of questions... would a double glazing firm be able to drop in an angle iron lintel easily ? what would stop the whole brick work dropping when the remove the window.... it this a major job ?... got a guty coming round saturday , just want to be ahead of the game with a few recomendations ....... thanks

They should be able to prop it while they add some support.
I hope your talking with local company's and not the big national ones.

Ok thanks... to be honest ref companys... i have a national one coming round sat....... just to get an idea on price , i know a couple of local ones who i will get to quote also.. do you not rate the National ones ? would local be better ?

Im about to go out now, But have a google of the national companys.

Which ever one you have coming around google their name followed by:
Problems
Cowboys

Stick with local where you have a door you can go and knock on if you have a problem
