Dear Members,

I have a Halstead Ace boiler, the diaprahm has gone in the divertor valve, the part number is 840505. I have ordered the replacement part and the guy i spoke to said it was extremely easy to fit, I wonder if someone would be kind enough to point me in the direction of or write me a step by step guide to changing it.

Many Thanks
Chris

Isolate the mains water into boiler and open hot tap to drain.

Remove brass water valve on RH side. Replace old diaphragm with new one and re-fit water valve.

thats it.

Rob i appreciate your help!

I am going to really show my stupidity here but is the water valve inside the boiler?

Cheers

This..

Just held in with a couple of grub screws

Diaphragm sits inside 8)

should be held in with 2clips (one for each pipe) then ya can jus pull um out... id check they are clear while they are off aswell

ok clips have been cut, but still struggling to get em out, is there some kind of pressure release?

hooray, pipes are out and leakage dried up now. am gonna try and change the diaphragm, any more suprises i should expect?

ok i got it open,
why has my replacement part come with a little copper scre thingy over the top of the switch
