Gyproc Coving Adhesive on Plywood?

Hi,

Will the coving adhesive work on plywood board?

I want to fix some coving to a recessed part of the ceiling which has been built out of plywood.

Or would it be better to use some other fixing method?

Looking to build something like the attached picture where the coving will be away from the wall about 4in so i can put an LED light strip behind it..

I’d use grab adhesive and the odd screw then fill the screw holes
