According to what you have told us the boiler is failing to light on CH when its hot!
That should be a very easy fault for any engineer to diagnose!
Ig the mixture is correct then it should light and the PCB should detect the flame!
Since the BG man knows the boiler works on DHW and he still replaced the gas valve, I would say that he has absolutely no understanding of how boilers work!
I would expect that the independent service agent will have little problem sorting it out if you can persuade him to co0me out to you.
An independent does not have any backup and cannot call someone else or their TSM as a BG man does when he cannot fix something. The independent has to fix it or he does not get paid !
