Hi there.

Halstead (Wickes) Combi 102 (Ace High).

Burner On light was dull/flickering and CH/DHW was intermittent.

The PCB also starting sparking at one of the soldered connections, so have got myself a replacement PCB.

Instructions for the PCB indicate that I need to reset/reconfigure it using a manometer - is this necessary or can I just pop the new one in? Will it damage the PCB if I did so and fired up the boiler?

It's freezing here :)

Thanks.

Okay thanks, so basically it won't work until reconfigured? Guess I'll have to invest in a manometer then!

No, it means you can't be sure it's working safely without carrying out the manufacturer's stated checks. Using the manometer, in your case, will be classed as DIY gas work, which, as you know, will require proof of competence.
