Hammering Tap?

The cold water kitchen sink tap hammers like hell, it only hammers when I turn it on half way, when I turn it on fully it stops hammering, the other cold water taps are fine.
Any idea's

Maybe a pipe moved out of its 'bracket', kitchen tap is always (should be) first on your mains supply, or turn down your main stopcock slightly ?
