Hi all! I really need some advice as we're going mad trying to do this! The mirror is quite heavy!

Basically we want to hang a mirror over our fireplace and its plasterboard. The mirror has no frame it's all glass.

Top left is the hook on the back of the mirror. Bottom left is the screw we tried but it just didn't work, it got so far and stopped screwing, we think the plasterboard is directly on brick as its solid at the end of the hole and the screw would go no further and just ruined the wall leaving a big hole!

The right pic is the hangers we are trying to get into the wall. As its brick behind is our best bet to drill in and use a really long screw and wall plug so its secure in the brick?? Our only concern with that is all the really long screws we have are far too thick to fit through the holes in the picture hanger! Please help, much appreciated!

Ps sorry if this is in the wrong forum
Thanks

Drill a 6mm hole through the plasterboard and straight into the brick.
Tap a wall plug in that passes into the brick, and then use a longer screw that will pass through the hanger, plasterboard and then into the plug.

Thank you! The plasterboard is about an inch thick, what kind of length should the screw and wall plug be?

You'll find that 6mm plugs are around 30mm long, but longer length ones are available.
The hole in the brick needs to accept the length of the plug, if possible, there's not too much grip in the plaster itself.
So a screw length of say 45mm long with a 4 gauge head should be fine, ensuring that the screw winds into the plug in the brick, causing it to expand.

You don't need the hooks, just a pan head screw to hand the mirror clip on.
