Hanging tv in log cabin

I've got a log cabin that's 44mm thick and want to hang a 42inch lcd screen. There seems to be different opinions on this any help?

Sorry. It was more on the lines. Should I first use ply board under bracket then attach that? The logs can move a degree, so some people advise not to use brackets that you have to screw to about 4 logs etc. Just seeing what other people have done,and if there was any problems.

How heavy is the TV? The LED TVs I have would probably hang from a picture hook..

What kind of adjustment are you looking for? Flat wall mount? Tilt wall mount? full extending arm allowing 360 adjustment?

Don't. Place it on a table / cabinet so the screen is at seated eye level for best comfort when viewing.

Most wall mounts are set far too high for comfortable viewing and look too low on a wall when standing/entering the room.

It's a good point, but I don't see why one has to clutter up a room with a table and bulky TV stand just to make the psychology of how it "looks" when standing, correct.

I'd be happy to do away with the cabinet and hang the TV on the wall at the seated-eye-height; anyone coming in, standing and declaring it appearing low, would be told it was optimally adjusted for seated height, now sit down and enjoy it"
