Happy New Year everyone.

We went to a recording of Mastermind many years ago, once the audience was seated a floor manager had a re shuffle, anyone with bright clothing was seated at the back, then we had about 20 mins being entertained by a comedian, then a talk on how it all works, when to applaud etc.

In between rounds John Humphries spun round in his chair and bantered with some of us, after the first programme was finished he went off and changed his shirt & tie, we were treated to a Kit Kat & capri sun, another programme was then recorded. Lots of retakes.

Well, I’m pretty sure there aren’t any such places as Walford, Weatherfield and Emmerdale but I do know that so-called 'live' concerts on New years Eve are not always truly 'live'.

Apart from technical delays due to signals bouncing to space and back, and the delay along the cabling to your house, they probably put a deliberate delay in anyway, in case some performer decides to do something too controversial for the broadcaster's liking.
