I'm fitting an extractor fan to my bathroom and am trying to figure out how i'm going to fix the external louvre vent to the external wall as its on the third floor with bad access for ladders etc. Any gadgets out there or any suggestions to help or get round this would be great, thanks.

Hello,
After returning from the pub  I have a beer inspired idea. .

Put some string out of your fan's 'hole' and tie on the 'louvre' which you will have pre grip filled or the like. Once you have core drilled the hole you can fit the external grill from the inside maybe ? (unless you have over large forearms )

My second idea involved you buying a cat, and the fire brigade but we wont go there.

Be Safe.

What about the tubes available with a round grille on the end. They're designed to be pushed in from the inside once you've cored a hole and would suit your application perfectly.
Even B&Q sell them.

Eddie's right, be safe. If the other solutions dont work then its one of these

Here's a picture of the item I described above, they're designed to be pushed in from inside which saves you the hire charge of a scissor lift!

Nice, not seen one before. B&Q you say... Do they have a non-return flap in them?

If not fit one in the tube, unless the fan has a shut off grill.

Not the one's I've seen so the fan would have to have an automatic shutter.
Most do anyway.

Yes, B&Q sell them. In fact I borrowed the above pictures from diy.com.
