Second, obey the request of the coast guard coordinating. Follow the protocols etc. If you respond to a may day in Uk waters you offer assistance via the coast guard. You don’t steam in without instructions unless you get no response from your call.

With modern satellite tracking, it would be the easiest thing to ascertain where a vessel has come, and return it to that port. It's our politicians and assorted liberal dogooders who are the problem. There's no political will as the politicians are deliberately creating the situation.

How do I know? Meteorologists track the weather, and clouds presumably don't have an AIS fitted, whatever that may be. Radar can track anything it's set up for.
