Need to put a section of lead flashing back into the brickwork.
The chase in the mortar has been filled with some flexible material that feels to me (a novice) like silicone but I am not sure what it is...
For what it's worth, it shrunk a bit so probably not a leading MS polymer brand.
I got some Lead Mate and a bag of Hall clips.
Planning to go up there but my main concern is that the old sealant is going to be a b**** to remove and I'll be spending several hours up there.
Can see a lot of videos online but they are just knocking out mortar and putting the gummy stuff first time - I need to remove the old stuff.
Worth to get some Silicone Eater or that's going to leach into the new sealant and fudge it up too?
Also, I am thinking about getting a wire brush (disc style, not cup style) but not sure I can get the right angle.
Any tips or tricks hugely appreciated - thanks!
