Just a general query, i'm looking for a corgi from bristol to quote on a new boiler install. I used to have a back boiler years ago, before i moved in. when i put an electric fire in the pipes were capped off etc and i seem to have a void/channel running up my chimney breast.
My question is:-
Why don't companies make HE back boilers? I know HE boilers produce condensate but with condensate pumps surely there isn't an issue with finding a waste outlet? It just seems crazy that millions of homes with bbu's have to have everything re-routed and a flue generally pointing out the wall instead of out the chimney thus reducing pluming nuisance. I'm probably going for a loft install (no choice, mid terrace) but would be much tidier having it behind a firefront.
any thoughts?
