I think that depends on how high a volume you have them on. I've heard cars passing my house that sound like God's washing machine, and that's with all the windows closed and the road a good 50' from the house. Now they are the ones who will be deaf when they're 40!

with respect, that's a narrow minded response.... e.g. why do people like to knit, or do zumba classes, or weld old cars etc..
And they can be dangerous, but so can smart phones with people texting and twittering etc..
Fair enough but the whole thing where you see individuals walking about with headphones tattooed to their lug holes (particularly) pro footballers, points towards deliberate ignorance in a way.
Almost an anti-social tool.
I am however a grumpy git who despises a blaring radio at work when trying to concentrate. I don't mind when we are doing mundane things like bricklaying or plastering but as soon as i need to communicate or do some measuring etc the radio is booted off the scaffold.
There will be no headphones on any of my sites.

People can use headphones if they wish, for any reason.
You hate a blaring radio, well again, headphones are perfect then.
My point is, is a £200 set 10 times better than a £20 set?
Not in the workplace, that would be dangerous and silly.

I have some £120 Denon ones and the sound quality is excellent.
At the end of the day a good sound is purely an opinion and you should be guided by YOUR ears.

I've always thought it ironic that by the time most can afford decent AV gear, their eyes and ears are no longer worthy of the experience!
