Heater Control Unit

Hello,

I have just replaced the heater control unit on a 1997 ford fiesta 1.4 16v Si. The heating now works but the car temperature gauge does not move into the normal area on the dashboard and there is a buzzing noise coming from the air filter compartment. Are these related?

I took the air filter out and cleaned it up a bit, so perhaps a new air filter will cure the buzzing noise but I'm stumped as to why the car will not get to normal temperature.

Anyone got any ideas?

have you had any pipes off the cooling system?
could just need a new engine thermostat,i dont think the buzzing is related to the heater
