Wondering if anyone knows whats causing this/how to fix or how much it would cost for someone to do it for us:

since we had a new kitchen fitted in may last year we have found that whenever we have the hot water turned on the radiators heat up. This is not at all controlled by the thermostat so I assume its something to do with a valve (we had some replaced as limescale/age had caused them to seize up).

Any ideas?
Thanks

Worth checking that the valve isn't in the manual override position, if not, it may just need the motor changing, which is inexpensive, to the whole valve which is a bit more. Could do with a few more details to be honest.

I had exactly the same problem, was solved with a new three way valve.

Yep agree fully, most probably the motorised valve is letting by, if that is the case the whole valve will need to be replaced. Price depends on size of valve and how much the heating engineer charges per hour.
Ball park figure approx. 150 pounds

Thanks for the help. Doesn't sound too expensive, and neither I nor husband have a clue with plumbing/heating systems.. so a heating engineer it will be.

Thanks again
