So I've got a vaillant ecotec pro 28 boiler; hot water is working fine but heating won't come on? appears that the boiler is set to "On" rather than the timer, but isn't actually on; temp for rad is set to 75 and water is set to 60

I've gone ahead and checked all rads to make sure they don't need bleeding & all appear to be good

First thing to do is turn off the filling loop (that's the two black handles in the first picture)as the boiler has too much pressure, you will need to bleed a rad to drop the pressure before you turn the boiler on, do you have a room stat ?

This could also be the reason for not coming on as the pressure is too high, and will not always fire up when that high. As @picasso has asked, do you have a room thermostat (a temp dial on the wall)?

Needs both of them off, looks like the one might not be shutting off properly or its been overfilled.
