NEST RF SWITCH V2
───────────────────────────
N (blue) → N
L (brown) → L
2 (CH) → C1
3 (grey) → NO1
5 (HW) → C3
6 (black) → NO3

LIVE LINKS:
Nest: L → 2 → 5
New: L → C1 → C3

CH2 unused

The ufh stats are wired directly to the uh4 so the rf switch just controls the heating and HW cylinder

What is the aim? The main problem with Nest Gen 3 is it connects to TRV heads in a silly way. In fact today it seems since Google took over Nest, it will not work with the Energenie TRV heads any more.

So the main reason to kick out Nest is because it will not work with TRV heads. The whole idea of open or closed motorised valves seems rather pointless, unless there are going to be a lot of valves, so each individual valve will not have too much effect on boiler output.

Once we get to something like this

then one valve opening or closing is not going to upset the boiler control, but there is a limit on how few on/off valves can be used, with radiators we have analogue control with TRV heads, but this is not the case with underfloor heating.
