hi everyone, new to this forum. isnt the itnernet great for finding answers.

anyway, i installed this heatstore aquaplus 8.5kw shower approx 12 months ago, and now the overheat light has come on. ive read the manual and done all the checks and attempted to reset the thermal cutout as stated in manual, but still no warm water, and the light remains on.

is there something i should be looking for, such as reduced water flow, etc, or just bin the shower and get a new one.

cheers in advance for any help.

So if you have attempted to set the thermal cut out do you think that the reason you cannot reset it is that it is faulty?

Some other stuff!

Has the flow switch turned off properly?

Have you cleaned the shower head?

Are you in a hard water area with no protection against limescale?

Fixing showers is rarely a viable option and for the price of some of them they can be considered a disposable item. If its 'about a year old' is the guarantee still valid?

how do i check the flow switch?
we have fitted a different shower head a few months back, could this be a problem?
as for the hard water, i dont know.

if the shower wont work anyway, would bypassing the thermal cut out cause any more damage?

With you having the word sparky in your name I assumed you were one!

The flow switch is the bit that turns the power on when water flows through the shower.

NEVER EVER BYPASS ANY THERMAL CUT OUT ! It is there for safety. If you dont know how to test it don't touch it.

i wire houses for a living mate, not mend showers.
if i knew how to do it i would not have wasted my time asking would i?

check the tco should have power both sides if not it's faulty. even after it has been rest.
