HELP ! Ariston Styx sx 20 m/sx

Hi ALL

i have had the bristish gas man out to check our boiler out before we sell the house on. He found the seal is not intact on the cover that covers the inside bit of the boiler and said that he has to turn off the boiler and cannot turn it back on until a new cover complete has been found.

They now say the boiler and part is obselete so we have to have a new boiler. Surley there must be a way of making a new seal for this type of thing. the boiler is in otherwise superb working order.

Any help would be appreciated.

if the part is obsolite then unless the manufactures supply a alternative then its a no go , these days you cant use alternative seals unless specified by manufactures. is it the seal gone or the cover you said in post it needed complete cover?

On this boiler the cover sticks to the combustion chamber if boiler is not serviced regularly. Good idea that could do with reintroduction..
