Can somebody please please help me? I have managed to stain the majority of my white tiles with black grout, please tell me there's a way to get it off? I did a smaller patch of tiling yesterday which have come up beautifully but today I have obviously done too much of an area and stained pretty much all of them with the black grout. I have people staying at the weekend and am desperate to get it off. I hope someone can help thank you!

Are the ceramic or porcelain? Is it on the face or has it bled in under the glaze?

Hi, thanks for getting in touch!

I'd actually posted this by accident in the decoration section of the forum prior to this. Although not the best place for it I did actually receive a number of replies there.

After wiping them continually, a dark greyish streaky sheen had been left (although this had not bled under the glaze). I tried a number of methods to remove it with no success. In the end the good old dish sponge and a lot of scrubbing removed the staining. (You can tell I am very new to tiling). Fortunately the rougher side was white and not green, don't know if this made a difference but the tiles now look beautiful - panic over!

I guess using high-contrast grout you will always have to get all of it off, where as when using contrasting colours some trace amounts will typically be left and come off in the following weeks/month. Where they satin finish tiles? The ones in my parents shower too a fair bit of cleaning to get the last trace of grout off.
