I have just replaced the gate valves on either side of my water pump and had to drain the system down. With new pump and valves installed I bled the rads and the pump. I struck up the boiler but now there is air in the the pump. All the rads run fine and are full but the bleed screw on the pump won't let any air or water out. It is a convetional boiler
Any ideas?

probably got an airlock, try back filling from the mains if you cant shift it.

I've done it thank god!!
Been at it all night the problem was I never unscrewed the pump screw and pushed it aside enough to let the air out. Amazingly only a tiny amount of air came out but obviously enough to air lock it.
