help, buying new house but boiler not working

you mean the drian for the ombi boiler? I have not thought of that before ,this morning was quite warm, so i don't think the driange pipes were frozen. would a blocked drianage pipe cause both of the symptoms of overheating and dripping water?

No; he means the drains which take away the foul water from toilets etc and the rain water from the gutters.

ACO came with a 5 year warranty, but if it's not been serviced pretty sure there not going to entertain the idea of fixing it as they seem to hate there own boiler.
Just replaced a 5 year old one ,on 5 th service 2 holes in heatexchanger ,ariston wouldn't look at it under warranty(5 years 3 months old ) ,they reused to work on a a aco for a paid repair and there recommended service agent whose number they gave me also refused to work on a ACO .
