I have just clad this section of house in treated log lap wood.

Has anyone got any ideas on what colour finish i could be using to make it look good.

Would you go dark as in an oak colour or reddish to match the painted brickwork behind.

What about a basic varnish ?

Any ideas appreciated.

It was std weatherboard before painted white. Don't like that really.

dark brown

A waxy stain as used on sheds and fences is easy to recoat and needs almost no prep.

Varnish is the opposite.

I have a load of fence stain in the garage. I may just do a test with that and see how it goes. Thanks for that.

Get in there with some BEDEC Barn Paint - don't mess about with acrap old fence paint. Do it once, do it right! (while the scaffold is up)
