Hi,

I have just converted my old gravity system into fully pumped using this method as in diagram below:

http://www.gasman.fsbusiness.co.uk/images/yppic.jpg

It states on the diagram that the return connection from the cylinder must be the last connection.

Now my problem: I have 3 other radiators that go into the return pipe after the connection from the cylinder, and these 3 radiators wont heat up. I have turned all the radiators off and just left these 3 on but still no heat, if i disconnect the pipes from the radiators i sometimes get hot water from then, and other times i can fill 4 buckets and only get cold water.

Could it be air?

Hope someone could throw some light on my problem.

Thanks,

Stu.

cant say why they are not working at present but if you dont pipe it correctly you will get reverse circulation.making rads hot with h water only on.better off putting it right now

These rads should heat, with hot water on only now. The wrong way round unfortunately!

I think reverse circulation was already mentioned.

Is this DIY weekend already going wrong?

Are you sure you have not piped any flows and returns together?

A diagram of what you have done will be helpful as the diagram provided shows a close coupled o/vent cold feed configuration....which you have not followed, and probably not what you have.

What have you done with o/vent c/feed pipes, as on a gravity system the cold feed should enter on the 28mm return from the cylinder, whilst the o/vent will connect to the highest point on the cylinders primary flow?

You have not mentioned either of these pipes.

David
