This is the gf's bathroom, its been like this since she moved in 4 years ago, i think were sick of the houses being like this. The rest of the house has progressed, with the bathroom being left as its such a large job.
I think someone had tetris on the mind, the gf wanted too fill the tiles in with more tiles, and paint over.

Some people would just put this out too a builder, or bathroom company too complete the work, but as she is a single mum, not working, nor claiming benefits cash is hard, im not in a position to go throwing £££'s away on something thats not directly mine. I had the idea that we between ourselves carry out the work. Im a former electrician so manual work & hand tools are not a foreign item too me. The gf the other hand can drill walls, and put skirting boards on.. , she also gives moral support when im carrying out essential concrete repairs too the garden path but shows no interest in mixing the concrete by hand with me.
We have thought about plastering the room out, trying too get the walls level somehow..? Then tongue and groove up too waist height, with larger tiles on the wall around the bath. Apart from that were here too look for advice on what too do, im sure a new bathroom would be benefical but then again so would central heating, new back door, new outside path and every other thing that needs doing.
I have some spare time coming my way, a local college has some space on some Plastering Courses for the time im off, at a cost of £375 for 4 days of work, i was thinking this would be worth it with this project.
