Hello Folks,

I'm looking to replace the taps in my bathroom, but I'm having trouble identifying the pipe connections and how I can remove them. The builder who built my new build 7 years ago didn't install shut off valve, but fortunately I know how to switch off the hot and cold water supply.

I would like to know if the existing tail pipe connections in the attached photograph can be removed, or if I need to cut the tail pipe in-place before fitting a new valve and tail pipe to the new tap.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks,

They are not easy to remove.

However, they can be, by unscrewing the plastic centre.( not always easy)

As suggested earlier, just cut them off, and replace with another connector.

Make sure you fit an appropriate insert in the pipe.

Many thanks for all the information!

Did a bit of further reading and it sounds like the company that made these fittings was bought by a competitor so they are no longer readily available. I won't feed bad now cutting them off and replacing for some new push fittings... With an insert of course :-)
