Hi.....first post so be gentle ;) apologies if this is already covered somewhere.

Vokera compact 28 pressure increased to 3.5 with prv/overflow leaking. I've done the following:

-removed filling loop....no issue here.
- replaced prv and added an external expansion vessel by adding an extention hose on original vessel hose from pump.

Everything looked fine for a day then same old pressure increase started....2.5-2.9 regardless how much I remove from radiators it still creeps up.

I'm at a loss now, thinking possibly heat exchange? Is this the most likely culperate now?

Also, when I removed prv...I noticed an orange residue withing/around....is this 'normal' to a system that's around 6 years old?

Final question.....would any of the above be linked to a current water hammer issue I have (which I'm not sure how to correct) from the mains inlet to the house to pipes running straight and directly up to the bathroom from the inlet itself? I wonder if the pressure has done something to the boiler? And also heard fitting a valve prior should prevent future heating exchange damage?

I know much of the above may seem obviouse but im just a lady trying to understand the workings here! Any advice is really appreciated before I fork out more on stuff I may not need!

Cheers!

Given what you've described, it's most likely a pinholed plate heat exchanger

Get a qualified repairer to service your boiler. External vessel connected to existing hose? Are you having a laugh
