 Please can somebody help me, I have just punctured the hot water feed to a radiator. The feed is via the modern plastic pipe and has sprung a minor leak. I have patched it up using nylon jubilee clips and a cycle repair patch.....what do I do next.

Cheers

snip it half and replace it with straight connectors.

Dont forget to drain out first and use the insert.

I kinda didnt mention that the hole was behind plaster board, it is now visible thanks to my trusty chisel. The one thing that is baffling me is how do I stop the water supply to the raidiator.

Cheers in advance

Do you know where the drain stopcock is ? Then shut down the water supply to your radiator system & shut down all radiator valves then drain it. You don't say what system you have , is it a combi etc............

I dont think its a combi, the box on the wall is by Baxi and I have a unit that can switch either the heating or hot water on and off.

Okay I'm trying to help you to stop the leaking quickly, turn off the programmer that operate the radiator and shut down all radiator valves.

If it's a combi there should be a water supply stopcock to the boiler somewhere, shut it down. (hot water will be unavailable at this time)

If you don't have a combi, do you have a small tank (Feed & Expansion tank) in the loft not the big tank (Cold water storage tank). Shut the water supply to the small tank. Do that first then find the lowest drain point for your radiator to drain.

Hey thanks for your help. Everything is now off......how do I drain the system ?

Cheers once again.

This is where the fun start !

Do you have something like this ? It maybe under the floorboards or in some known cases they may not have one !!!

I'm sorry I have to go out now so hoping some plumbers who I can see online here can help you quickly.
Good luck.
