Help! - Missing bricks in external wall?

Hi,

I am buying a house, and pretty clueless about DIY myself, so I was hoping you could advise me.

The house has some bricks missing from an external wall, where there used to be a lean to (possible outside toilet). The lean to was removed last year, and the gaps filled with expanding foam sealant. Now this doesn't strike me as a good solution.

What do you think? And what do we do about it?

Remove the expanded foam and replace with bricks mortar'd in.
