Help needed is this a fully pumped system or gravity fed

The crystal ball is a bit cloudy tonight

Fully pumped Y plan.
To put a new timer in the you only need to swap the old time clock wires into the new one.
From what i can make out
L-R
1)Brown=Live
2)Blue=neutral
4)Red=HW on
6)Blue=HW off
7)Yellow=heating on
The 2 red loops can be disregarded as they were there to link the common lives together, modern timers do this internally.
There also appears to be a link missing between 1+5 but it doesnt matter.

Confused now - does the HW work ok on its own if you use the boost button?
Did the OP remove the circuit link? Perhaps the clock thinks it is doing a gravity circuit?
yes the hot water works fine with the boost function
