Hi all,

I’m trying to replace the latch receiver on my SMEG DI13M2 integrated dishwasher as the door wont close (with this part: eBay link) but I’m struggling to work out how to actually get the dishwasher out.

Setup:

  • Integrated unit in a handleless kitchen with a granite worktop above.
  • Dishwasher is flush-fitted.
  • I can see the latch receiver should be a simple unscrew/replace job once I can pull the machine out.

Problem:

  • There are no screws under the granite holding it in place from the top.
  • It looks like it might just be fixed on the sides to the adjacent cabinets, with the legs adjusted to wedge it tightly underneath the granite.
  • I’m unsure if I just need to undo the side screws and lower the legs a bit so it loosens, then pull it out.
  • I really don’t want to remove the front door panel if I can avoid it.

Question:
What’s the right way to release one of these SMEG integrated units? Is it usually side-mounted into the cabinets and pressure-fitted with the legs, or is there another fixing point I’m missing?

Any tips (or photos if someone has done this exact model) would be massively appreciated before I start forcing things.

Thanks in advance!

I think you will be correct about the side screws and dropping the legs but I wouldn't have thought it would be screwed into the granite.
