I have 1.5 year old honey oak kitchen cabinets. I want to paint them black. What is the best way to go about this? I do not want the grain to show through, and I want something long lasting. Any ideas? Thanks.
Yep..black. No wood grain showing and medium gloss. If you look at Target.com, they have a black wood cabinet w/chrome knobs. That is the look I want.[/img]
6 to 8 coats (YES 6 to of varnish rubbed down after each coat to fill the grain, A further coat lightly rubbed to remove knibs, then 2 coats of black. This will allow the next owner to remove the black paint as well to reveal the wood again.
