Help! Repairing new crack in oak kitchen worktop

plug of wood over the screw head then you won't see it, and if you can get a good grain match with the plug it will blend in well

Look up plug cutters (just need some scrap oak; try a local woodworking shop?), the rest is hopefully obvious
get a plug from the underside off the stave its to plug around 12mm deep just make sure it 50mm or so away from the area your plugging above

I would think as it looks a shrinkage crack it couldn't be closed again without the worktop either side moving to close the gap so would need to be released from any fixings/caulking ,therefore would concentrate on filling?
