Help to Remove Tap Cap - As per the picture

Hi All;

I hope you are all well and safe.

I have a tap/mixer in my bathroom sink which the tap is very hard to turn, and I'd like to change the tap cartridge, however I'm struggling to remove the cap, and I do want to ruin it.

Do you know how to remove the cap for the following tap in the picture pls?

Have you tried the small chrome domed piece? Unscrew anti clockwise

the cap is off, the cartridge is stuck! Right hand tap.

Do I turn the cartridge clockwise or anti-clockwise pls?

Hi Lucio,

It’s Anticlockwise. If it’s really stuck, you could try pouring boiling water on it and wait to cool a bit?

You need a better fitting spanner !
What you have used is starting to round off the hex .

I hadn’t noticed that, wasn’t able to zoom in, but just found a different way.

@Lucio Godoy, a 17mm open spanner might work

A six sided deep socket would be better or even a stillson wrench as a last resort.
