HI THERE, I HAVE RECENTLY MOVED INTO A PERSIMMON HOUSE, THE WATER CYLINDER IS CONSTANTLY RELEASING HOT WATER FROM THE PRESSURE RELEASE VALVE AT THE TOP OF THE CYLINDER AND FLUSHING IT OUT OF THE OVERFLOW. THERE IS ALSO A RED LIGHT ON THE THERMOSTAT (WARNING LIGHT WITH AN EXCLAMATION MARK ON IT) THE CYLINDER IS AN ARISTON WRC NSF. IT FLUSHES OUT WATER WHEN THE HOT WATER COMES ON AT THE BOILER AND STOP ABOUT EVERY 15 MINUTES THEN STARTS AGAIN 10-15 MINUTES LATER.

CAN ANYBODY ENLIGHTEN ME ON WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE AND HOW THIS MAYBE RESOLVED?

Well as it has two problems, and anyone working on unvented cylinders has to be "G3" qualified, we have to suggest you call such a person. They can in theory be dangerous.

Expansion vessle or air bubble burst or the temp pressure relief valve
is lifting causing this.

Aristons have an anode in them to save the cylinder from corroding.
Am sure this little light is telling you to get the annode changed.

You need a qualified eng to work on these so make sure you get the correct man for the job.

Well its £150 or you life if you tamper and dont know what you are up against!

Get BG in they will give you quote for the work at least or a fixed price repair for £160.

That includes your first part and the labour to fit it.
