I have just replaced my bathroom cord switch as it didn't click and stopped working. The new switch worked fine for a couple of minutes then just stopped working, exactly like my old one!! Does anyone know why this will happen?!?! I have 4 wires going into my switch, a red one, a blue one, a yellow one and the earth.

Try loosening the screws which hold the cover in place. See if it clicks now. If it does, it means that the wiring inside is too cramped and is putting pressure on the switch. Trim back the sheath of the cable and make sure the cores aren't too long and that you don't have any bulky terminal blocks inside.

Otherwise, no idea. Cheap switch?
