Hi all,

My nan is having a new boiler as her old Potterton is playing up. We have found a local corgi installer to fit a boiler and move it downstairs.

Its a 3 bed semi with 7 rads. "2 peple live in the house, shower will run off boiler.

What is recommended? Fitter mentioned valliant pro28, but dont want anything too expensive

Thanks

I would love someone to ask

"I want something REEEAAALY expensive"

Just to make a change

Sorry for not offering advice as this post comes up time and time and time again

get a decent RGI type chap and go with the advice they give

:)

go with the vaillant, its a good boiler and the pro 28 is very reasonably priced.

if you can afford a little bit more the 831 is worth the extra ££££

Just had a look at the baxi 105 he which looks good in spec, are these any good?

I myself have the valliant 837.

the vaillants pi$$ all over the baxi's in every respect; you get what you pay for.

I would also have a viessmann over baxi aka poxi.

has anyone yet to see a baxi combi gat past 3 years without a fault. would love to know this.the best they did was the old 552 bbu but thats about it.ps im not a fan of baxis

3 years? You must be joking, 18mths is lucky. Still prefer them over Ideal though which are absolute crap.

hopeing the one i fitted wont though.had a customer that was adament about a duo tech.beacuse it was which boiler of the year.tried talking him out of it.no chance.still feel dirty fitting it.

Vaillant is not a bad boiler, but they certainly have the reputation for being the worst company in the country for aftersales and customer service..

It is probably irrelevant as you are looking for something cheap which would leave vailant out of range
