Hi, was hoping someone could help me or offer some advice.
I had my bedroom re-skimmed and after a few days hairline cracks had appeared in the middle of some of the walls, understanding this to be normal I left the room for about 5 weeks then did two coats of paint using dulux supermatt, the first coat 1 part water to 3 parts paint and the second 1 part water to 5 parts paint like it recommended on the tub. I could still see the cracks so I painted over them with Polycell Hairline Crack Polyfilla left overnight and then sanded down in the morning, then wiped down to remove the dust with a damp sponge. Painted again with my chosen colour of Dulux One Coat and then the next morning the main cracks reappeared on the internal wall between two bedrooms. So then used Polycell Fine Surface Polyfilla and a filling knife, left over night then sanded, wiped down and painted again. Then the cracks have reappeared, one runs horizontally along the wall from the light switch with a few long vertical cracks intersecting it.
Apologies for the massive post but wanted to include everything, wanted to know if there’s something I’m doing wrong or if it’s something to do with the re-skim? And any advice on how I can cover up the cracks, before I tear my hair out completely!? Thanks for any help.
