While applying oil to my timber overhead door canopy I realised too late that the wind had moved the protective sheet exposing part of the stone slab entrance steps and I now have about six £2 coin sized oil spots on the stair treads.
I've tried scrubbing with soapy water and rinsing with boiling water and I've tried putting white spirit on the spots and then scrubbing with soapy water.
Neither appear to have made any difference. Is there anything else I can try or am I stuck with a spotty step?
