Hi,

We moved into a new house and i'm abit worried about my electric shower. There is an on and off toggle switch on the celling, but it doesnt work, when i turn it on at the main breaker it puts power into the shower through the switch and i cannot turn it off or on with the celling switch. Hows the electricity going through the celling switch? Whats up?

Is the wireing in the switch wrong? and is it safe to use the shower?

Sounds like the contacts in the shower switch may have become welded shut due to a loose connection or something. I recommend you turn off the power and replace the switch with a new one to see if this helps. Make sure you turn all the power in the house off incase there is any doubt about which circuit its wired too.

And if any wires are melted in the switch, come back to us with your findings!!! You may have to rewire part or all of the shower circuit.
